Heathfield International School has four houses, each named after famous British writers: Dickens, Rowling, Shakespeare, and Tolkien. Each pupil is placed within a house when they join the school and remains in that house until they graduate. The houses are evenly balanced, with a similar number of pupils in each.
The houses are an integral part of the school’s values and traditions, reflecting the ethos of British independent schools. They provide pupils with a sense of identity and belonging while fostering a connection to a proud international school tradition.
Each day, points are awarded to pupils by their teachers for good work, helping others, or displaying excellent behavior. Every two weeks, the points for each pupil are tallied, and certificates are awarded during assembly to individual pupils. There is also a small trophy for the house with the highest number of cumulative points for those two weeks.
The house system encourages teamwork friendly competition between student groups, instills a sense of pride in our kids, and helps pupils build camaraderie while striving for excellence together.
